Ukraine reports first use of intercontinental ballistic missile by Russia in conflict
Ukraine reported that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at Dnipro city, marking the first use of such a missile in the ongoing conflict. The missile was fired from Russia's Astrakhan region, along with eight other missiles. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted six of the missiles, but two people were injured, and damage occurred to an industrial facility and a rehabilitation center. This attack follows Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent signing of a revised nuclear doctrine, which lowers the threshold for nuclear weapon use. In response, Ukraine has been using longer-range missiles supplied by the U.S. and U.K. Meanwhile, Russia claimed to have shot down several of these missiles and drones. The situation has escalated with the involvement of North Korean troops aiding Russia on the battlefield.
