Ukraine reports new long-range missile strike from Russia in Dnipro
Ukraine reported a missile strike on Dnipro by Russia, using a new type of long-range missile not seen in previous conflicts. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the missile as resembling intercontinental ballistic missiles, indicating a significant escalation in the war. The missile, believed to be an RS-26 Rubezh, was launched from Russia's Astrakhan region. This missile type falls outside existing treaties governing ICBMs. The attack resulted in at least two injuries, with investigations ongoing. This strike follows the U.S. allowing Ukraine to use Western-made long-range missiles against Russian targets. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin revised nuclear doctrine, lowering the threshold for nuclear weapon use against adversaries.
