Ukraine reports Russia launches intercontinental ballistic missile for first time in war
Ukraine reported that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) during an attack on Thursday, marking the first known use of such a weapon in the ongoing conflict. The missile was reportedly fired from the Astrakhan region. The Kremlin did not confirm the missile launch, with a spokesperson stating they had "nothing to say" on the matter. The Ukrainian air force indicated the missile targeted infrastructure in Dnipro, causing damage and injuries. In addition to the ICBM, Russia also fired a Kinzhal hypersonic missile and seven Kh-101 cruise missiles. Ukraine claimed to have shot down six of the cruise missiles.
