Ukraine reports Russia launches intercontinental missile for first time in conflict
Ukraine reports that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at Dnipro city, marking the first use of such a missile in the ongoing conflict. The missile was fired from Russia's Astrakhan region, along with eight other missiles. Ukrainian air defense intercepted six of the missiles, but two people were injured, and damage occurred to an industrial facility and a rehabilitation center. This attack follows a recent change in Russia's nuclear doctrine, which lowers the threshold for nuclear weapon use. The situation escalates as North Korean troops reportedly assist Russia, prompting a shift in U.S. policy to allow Ukraine to use longer-range missiles. Russia has threatened further escalation in response to these developments.
