Ukraine strikes Russian targets with long-range Western missiles for the first time
Ukraine has begun using long-range Western missiles, ATACMS and Storm Shadows, to strike targets inside Russia. This follows a recent policy shift by the U.S. that lifted restrictions on their use, allowing Ukraine to target Russian soil for the first time. On Wednesday, Ukraine launched at least 10 Storm Shadow missiles, hitting locations in Russia, including a military facility in Bryansk. This comes after Ukraine fired ATACMS missiles, marking a significant change in its military strategy after over a year of limitations. The U.S. relaxed these restrictions amid concerns over North Korean troops joining the conflict. The Kremlin has responded by updating its nuclear doctrine, warning against the use of Western missiles in Ukraine's operations against Russia.
