Ukrainian jammers hinder Russian glide bomb accuracy

Russian air force claims about their KAB glide bombs, known for precision hits, are being challenged. Recently, videos showed these bombs missing their targets by large distances, suggesting Ukrainian jamming technology is having a significant effect. These KAB bombs can glide up to 25 miles and carry heavy explosives. However, Ukrainian jammers can disrupt the signals needed for these bombs to accurately reach their targets. In one notable instance, a Russian drone captured footage of a KAB explosion occurring far from the intended target, highlighting the effectiveness of the Ukrainian jamming. Reports indicate that wide misses from KAB bombs are becoming frequent along the 700-mile front line. This has led Russian commentators to suggest that the effectiveness of these bombs is declining. The Ukrainian jammers have created a situation where the bombs lose their connection to necessary satellite systems, causing them to drift off course. Ukrainian forces are utilizing various jamming systems, including a new type called the Lima jammer. This system employs digital interference, which combines jamming with cyber tactics to confuse enemy navigation. As these jammers spread, the accuracy of Russian bombings continues to decrease. While some KAB bombs still strike their targets, many now miss wide, landing in fields instead of hitting Ukrainian military locations. As Ukrainian jamming capabilities improve, the threat from these Russian glide bombs appears to be diminishing.
