Umpire Anil Chaudhary finds IPL officiating more challenging

Umpire Anil Chaudhary has stated that umpiring in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is more challenging than officiating in international matches. He believes this is mainly due to the heightened pressure and professionalism in the IPL. Chaudhary, aged 60, shared his experiences of officiating in India’s matches, where he often faces jokes from neighbors about his role. He emphasized that despite these distractions, he remains focused on his job. “We are professionals, and can’t mix feelings and emotions while performing our duty,” he said. He has a wealth of experience, having officiated in 140 international matches and 226 IPL games in various roles. Chaudhary will be officiating in the upcoming IPL season, which starts on Saturday. In the opening match, the Kolkata Knight Riders will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens. KKR will be led by Ajinkya Rahane, who takes over from Shreyas Iyer. Meanwhile, Pat Cummins will continue as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad after leading them to last season's final.
