U.N. calls for action on extreme heat crisis

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged governments to address extreme heat, following the hottest day on record. This year, heat has caused 1,300 deaths among Hajj pilgrims and affected 80 million children in Africa and Asia. Over 70% of the global workforce, or 2.4 billion people, face high heat risk, with nearly 93% in Africa exposed to excessive heat, according to the ILO.
