This auction, starting Sunday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, features 574 players, with Jacobs entering at the minimum base price of $60,000. Jacobs is the only uncapped player in a group that includes several high-profile Black Caps. He expressed surprise at making the shortlist from 1,574 registrants and views this as a positive step in his career. The IPL auction will fill 204 roster spots, including 70 for overseas players. Jacobs has recently made a name for himself in domestic cricket, including a standout performance in Australia’s Queensland Premier Cricket.
