UNICEF seeks mpox vaccines for crisis-hit countries

UNICEF has launched an emergency tender for mpox vaccines, collaborating with Gavi, Africa CDC, and WHO. The initiative aims to secure up to 12 million doses by 2025, contingent on manufacturers' capacity. This follows WHO's declaration of mpox as a global public health emergency, with over 18,000 suspected cases and 629 deaths reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo this year.
