Union City holds youth baseball tryouts Saturday

Union City is preparing for the start of its 2025 youth baseball season. The season will kick off with tryouts set for this Saturday at Washington Park – 1st Street Park. Participants can enter the park by the clubhouse at the intersection of Paterson Plank Road and New York Avenue. Practices are expected to begin in mid-March, depending on the weather. The youth baseball program welcomes children of different age groups. T-Ball is available for kids between 5 and 7 years old. The Minors division is for those aged 7 to 10, while the Majors division serves 10 to 12-year-olds. Lastly, the Babe Ruth division is open to teens aged 13 to 16.
