Union teams inspecting cleanliness in Jaipur's selected areas

Three teams from the Union government are inspecting the city of Jaipur. They are in the area as part of the Swachhta Survekshan cleanliness survey. This examination will take place over the next two days, focusing on sections managed by the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC)-Heritage. The commissioner of JMC, Arun Hasija, said he does not know the exact locations the teams will visit or what they will inspect. However, local councillors have raised concerns. They claim the survey teams are only being shown areas that were cleaned beforehand. This may hide the true state of sanitation in the city. Ward 71 councillor Arvind Methi voiced his worries. He pointed out that while main roads in the Walled City look clean, the inner lanes tell a different story. He mentioned that garbage collection is inconsistent and that hoppers, which are used for waste collection, don't come for two to three days in some areas. Similarly, Ward 89 councillor Akbaruddin shared his observations. He noted that the corporation has focused on cleaning only certain locations in the past few days. In many inner lanes, sanitation workers are not present, creating difficulties for residents. He added that senior officials often do not respond to complaints, and the chief sanitation inspector disregards the issues raised by the community.
