Unique Aston Martin Rapide wagon to be auctioned
A rare Aston Martin Rapide wagon, known as the Bertone Jet 2+2, is set to be auctioned off. This unique vehicle is one of a kind, with no other models produced from a planned ten-car run. The Rapide was first introduced in 2010. It was designed to be a sensible family car with space for four passengers and a powerful V12 engine capable of reaching speeds over 200 mph. The Bertone design company modified a 2013 Rapide to create the Jet 2+2, making it a station wagon with a sleek look. This one-off wagon features unique additions like an extended roofline for more cargo space and rear seats that fold flat electrically. It also has a full-length glass roof that can be dimmed and a luxurious leather interior. Barry Weir, an Aston Martin enthusiast, commissioned the original design. Originally, Aston Martin planned to create ten copies of the Jet, but the company Bertone went out of business before those could be made. Now, the Jet 2+2 is the only version available. The auction will take place on March 29, and the car has logged less than 25,000 miles. Given its rarity and unique features, it is expected to sell for a high price. Other Aston Martin wagons, like the DB5 shooting brake, may also be of interest to fans.
