U.P. BJP issues notice to MLA for corruption remarks
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh has issued a show-cause notice to its MLA, Nand Kishor Gurjar. This move comes after Gurjar publicly criticized the state government and its officials. Gurjar accused the Uttar Pradesh government of being the "most corrupt" in history. He claimed that government officers are misleading Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and stealing from state funds. His remarks raised concerns within the party, especially as the government prepares to celebrate eight years in office. In the notice, the BJP's State president, Bhupendra Chaudhary, asked Gurjar to explain his comments. The party stated that such criticism harms its reputation and may lead to disciplinary action. Gurjar has a history of challenging the government on issues of corruption. During a recent press conference, Gurjar mentioned an incident involving a Ram Kalash Yatra in Loni. He alleged that police tried to stop the event without proper justification, even though local authorities claimed the Yatra was unauthorized. Gurjar asserted that permission had been requested by the local Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
