U.P. hospitals treat over 200 Holi road accidents
On Holi, government hospitals in Uttar Pradesh treated over 200 road accident cases, nearly double the usual number. King George’s Medical University reported 135 patients, while Balrampur Hospital and Lok Bandhu Raj Narayan Hospital also saw significant increases. KGMU typically receives 75 to 80 road accident patients daily. This year, the emergency ward overflowed, leading to 22 patients being referred to other hospitals. Balrampur Hospital reported no eye injury cases, unlike previous years. At Lok Bandhu Raj Narayan Hospital, 63 patients with road accident injuries were treated, including cases of drunk driving and minor collisions. Four patients were admitted for severe injuries, and one was referred to KGMU.
