UP Skill Development Mission trained over 1.4 million youth
The Uttar Pradesh government has trained over 1.4 million youth under the UP Skill Development Mission since 2017. The initiative aims to improve employability among young people. So far, more than 566,000 of these trained individuals have found jobs. To celebrate the government's achievements over the past eight years, a special event will take place on March 25, 26, and 27. The UP Skill Development Mission will have a stall to showcase its progress. The government has focused on creating opportunities for women and those with disabilities. Over 27,000 women received sewing and embroidery training across 45 districts. Additionally, 38 institutes have been dedicated to the skill development of people with disabilities, helping thousands find work. Collaboration with major industries has led to flexi training programs. The government is also providing specialized training for upcoming projects like Jewar Airport and Film City. The mission has gained national recognition, winning several awards, including the Best State in Skilling Award by ASSOCHAM. It also held its first Regional Skill Competition in June 2018, attracting participants from other states. To further support youth, the mission has embraced online learning by partnering with platforms like Coursera. This initiative has offered free training and certifications to 50,000 young people, enhancing their skills for the global job market.
