UPEIDA expressways increase speed limits for vehicles

Vehicles on expressways managed by UPEIDA can now travel faster than before. Cars can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. Larger vehicles, like buses, have a new limit of 100 km/h, while goods vehicles and motorcycles can go up to 80 km/h. The change was announced during a board meeting led by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Friday. The board decided to update the speed limits based on new guidelines from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Previously, the speed limit for cars on these expressways was 100 km/h. For mini-buses, goods vehicles, and motorcycles, the limit was 80 km/h. The new limits aim to improve traffic flow on UPEIDA-controlled roads. The meeting included UPEIDA’s ACEO Shrihari Pratap Shahi and other officials. The updated regulations reflect ongoing efforts to enhance highway travel.
