Upgrade weapons and armor by building a Forge
In "Assassin's Creed Shadows," players can upgrade their weapons and armor to keep their gear effective. However, this process starts only after completing the “Way of the Blacksmith” quest and building the Forge at the Hideout. To begin upgrading, you first need to find Heiji and visit the Forge. Upgrading requires resources and in-game currency called mon. You can increase your gear one level at a time or upgrade it multiple levels if you wish. Remember, you can only enhance gear up to your current level and the maximum allowed by the Forge. For armor upgrades, players need specific materials. These can be obtained from chests, contracts, or dismantling unused gear. Different armors require different items, such as Hemp cloth for Naoe's armor and Leather for Yasuke's armor. Weapons also need similar resources for upgrades. Ironsand is needed for Naoe’s weapons, while Yasuke’s melee weapons require Tamahagane. Players can obtain these resources in the same ways as armor materials. Beyond enhancing stats, players can also engrave perks onto rare gear. This requires a visit to the blacksmith and costs mon. Perks can boost traits like damage or armor puncturing and can be reused after engraving. It’s recommended not to upgrade the Forge immediately. The first level allows upgrades up to level 20, which is sufficient for the early game. Upgrading to level 40 requires many resources and is best done later when players approach level 20 and are ready for stronger gear.
