US allows Ukraine to use long-range missiles for strikes inside Russia
The U.S. will now allow Ukraine to use longer-range missiles, specifically the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), to strike targets inside Russia. This marks a shift from previous restrictions and responds to Ukraine's requests for advanced weaponry. The ATACMS can hit targets up to 300 kilometers away, significantly increasing Ukraine's striking capabilities. The decision may initially limit strikes to Russia's Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces have made recent gains. This change comes as Ukraine faces increased military support from North Korea for Russia. While Ukrainian leaders express caution about the announcement, they hope the new weapons will disrupt Russian operations and alter the balance of power in the ongoing conflict.
