U.S. Army charges specialist with murder in death of Sgt. Sarah Roque
The U.S. Army has charged Specialist Wooster Rancy, 21, with murder and obstructing justice in the death of Sgt. Sarah Roque, 23. Her body was found near single soldier housing at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, on October 20. Rancy, a combat engineer, is currently in pretrial confinement. A preliminary hearing will determine if there is enough evidence for a court-martial. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Sgt. Roque, from Indiana, served as a bridge crewmember and Mine Dog Handler. She enlisted in 2020 and received several military honors during her service. The investigation into her death remains active.
