U.S. criticizes Israel for inadequate humanitarian aid to Gaza
The Biden administration has criticized Israel for failing to improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller gave Israel a "fail" grade for not meeting aid delivery requirements, with only 71 trucks entering Gaza daily instead of the needed 350.
As the 30-day deadline approaches, U.S. officials are urging Israel to increase humanitarian aid. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin have communicated the importance of sustaining aid to Gaza, while Israel has canceled an agreement with the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees.
The U.S. is also concerned about rising violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank. Miller emphasized the need for Israel to address this violence and protect all communities, noting that the U.S. has imposed sanctions related to these incidents.
