US criticizes Israel for inadequate humanitarian aid to Gaza ahead of deadline
The Biden administration has criticized Israel for failing to improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza ahead of a 30-day deadline. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated that Israel has not met key requirements for aid delivery, giving it a "fail" grade.
As of now, only 71 trucks a day are entering Gaza, far below the required 350. U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, have urged Israel to increase humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, Israel has canceled an agreement with the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, which the U.S. opposes.
Miller also expressed concern over rising violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank. He noted that the U.S. has imposed sanctions on individuals involved in such violence and warned of potential further actions.
