U.S. files 210 new immigration cases in Texas
Federal prosecutors in the Western District of Texas have filed 210 new immigration-related cases from March 14 to March 20. Acting U.S. Attorney Margaret Leachman announced the updates on March 21. Among the arrested individuals were Carlos Alberto Santoyo Holguin from Mexico and Bielman Alexander PU-Ruiz from Guatemala. They were apprehended during inspections at a Greyhound bus station and allegedly lacked immigration documents. Investigators found fake Social Security and Green cards with them. Marvin Miguel US-Mendoza, a Guatemalan citizen and convicted felon, was also arrested. He had been deported four times and was not legally entitled to stay in the U.S. Manuel Andres-Miguel was charged with transporting illegal aliens and had a history of illegal entry. In Del Rio, Ashley Nicole Dronenberg and Zachery Lee Justus were arrested for allegedly trafficking two illegal aliens. Dronenberg was caught hiding a mother and child in her vehicle at a Border Patrol checkpoint. Jose Manuel Medellin-Guerrero was charged with illegal re-entry after being stopped during a traffic stop in San Antonio. He had a record of three prior illegal re-entries. Reymundo Criado-Cruz, a Mexican national with an extensive criminal history, was moved to federal custody after serving a sentence for aggravated assault. Ezequiel Borja-Jaimes was arrested in Austin after being found by ICE, having previously been deported. These arrests are part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative targeting illegal immigration and criminal organizations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
