US man arrested for alleged bomb plot against New York Stock Exchange
U.S. law enforcement arrested Harun Abdul-Malik Yener, a homeless man from Florida, for allegedly plotting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange. He was recorded making threatening statements, including a comparison to Osama bin Laden. Yener is charged with attempting to damage a building used in interstate commerce with explosives. The FBI had been investigating him since February after receiving a tip about bomb-making materials he was storing. The FBI found sketches and electronics related to bomb-making. Yener expressed a desire to use explosives to provoke a "reboot" of the U.S. government, targeting the Stock Exchange to "wake people up."
