U.S. border officials have seized over 52 kilograms of cocaine that was headed for Canada. The drugs were found at the Ambassador Bridge, a major crossing point. On March 21, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers checked a commercial vehicle leaving the U.S. for Canada. During the inspection, they discovered three garbage bags filled with suspected drugs hidden behind stacks of lumber. Tests later confirmed that the substance was cocaine. A total of 50 bricks of cocaine were taken by authorities. The Canadian driver of the vehicle is now facing federal charges, and the investigation is ongoing. Marty C. Raybon, the director of field operations, praised the work of the officers for their efforts in fighting transnational crime. He emphasized that border security requires teamwork between officers and law enforcement partners.
