Summary: At the G7 summit, the U.S. and Ukraine signed a 10-year security agreement. G7 nations agreed to provide Ukraine with a US$50-billion loan from frozen Russian assets. The loan will be repaid by profits from these assets, estimated at US$3 billion annually. Canada pledged $5 billion towards the loan. The agreement does not guarantee automatic U.S. defense of Ukraine in case of a Russian invasion.
