USPS offers mail delivery time estimates via ZIP codes

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has launched a new tool for customers. Starting Monday, people can find out how long it will take to deliver their mail. By entering ZIP codes on the USPS website, customers can see delivery timelines from one area to another. The tool allows users to check delivery times for different mail classes. Customers can enter the originating ZIP code and get an estimate based on the service type they choose. An interactive map will also provide expected delivery times. This change is part of USPS's plan to improve service standards. It is expected to save the agency $36 billion over the next ten years. The implementation will happen in two phases; the first begins on April 1, and the second on July 1. These announcements follow recent plans by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to cut costs. DeJoy is seeking assistance from the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk. Proposed changes include closing some post offices and cutting 10,000 jobs through voluntary early retirement. USPS is making these adjustments as they adapt to new challenges and needs in mail delivery.
