Usyk and Fury's relationship has deteriorated since fights
Oleksandr Usyk has shared that his relationship with Tyson Fury has changed since their two major fights last year. The rivals first faced each other in May for the undisputed heavyweight title, where Usyk emerged as the champion. They fought again seven months later, and Usyk won once more. After their first match, Fury spoke highly of Usyk and even suggested they take a holiday together. However, Usyk now says they do not communicate much anymore. He expressed sadness about this distance, saying, "I miss this great guy, our interaction." He reflected on the bond they formed after spending so many rounds fighting against each other. Looking ahead, Usyk is focused on his future in boxing. The WBO has ordered Usyk to negotiate a bout with heavyweight Joseph Parker, giving both teams 30 days to finalize terms. Usyk also expressed a strong desire to rematch Daniel Dubois, whom he defeated in 2023. Usyk mentioned that he believes Saudi Arabia is an excellent location for hosting fights, given the current situation in Ukraine. He appreciates the support and kindness of the Saudi people, calling it his "second home" for boxing.
