Uttar Pradesh advances three-language policy under NEP
Uttar Pradesh is making progress in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP), focusing on a three-language policy in schools. Over 1.04 crore students are enrolled, with significant participation in board exams. The state has formed a taskforce to enhance curriculum design and pedagogy. However, challenges remain in resource availability and coordination among education departments. The state is also integrating vocational education from class 9 and improving technology-assisted learning. Students must choose Hindi and another language, with options including various Indian and foreign languages. Textbook alignment with the National Curriculum Framework is ongoing, and schools are preparing for new academic initiatives, including bagless days and summer classes.
