Governor Anandiben Patel has called for collective action to achieve Viksit Bharat, or Developed India. She made her remarks during a visit to Padrauna in Kushinagar district. Patel urged people to protect girls from cancer by promoting the HPV vaccine, part of a campaign launched by Gorakhpur University’s vice-chancellor. The governor highlighted the important role of Anganwadi workers in building a healthy future. She mentioned that 30,000 Anganwadi centres in the state have been upgraded, including 230 in Kushinagar. Patel also directed officials to include underprivileged communities, especially the Mushar community, in government development programs. During her visit, Patel attended several government events and distributed certificates to beneficiaries. This included land leases for Mushars, Anganwadi kits, ration cards, and health cards under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. She emphasized the need to improve primary education and called for better school infrastructure and skill development for children. Patel noted the importance of Anganwadi centres in social welfare and suggested introducing child psychology activities to enhance learning environments for young children. She stressed the need to raise awareness about educational opportunities from Anganwadi centres to schools. Finally, Patel acknowledged that policymakers may not be aware of on-the-ground realities, which can lead to inefficiencies in welfare schemes. She highlighted the need for close monitoring of these programs to ensure they are effectively implemented and achieve the expected outcomes.
