Uttar Pradesh improves rural water access significantly
The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has made significant strides in providing clean drinking water. This effort is part of the Jal Jeevan Mission's ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme. It has helped more than 140 million rural residents gain access to safe water. The program has also connected over 20 million rural households with tap water. Schools and anganwadi centers have greatly benefited, with more than 99% of them now having tap water supply. To celebrate these achievements, the TOI is hosting a Water Summit in partnership with the State Water & Sanitation Mission. The summit will feature experts, policymakers, and industry leaders. They will discuss new ideas, share best practices, and talk about the future of water sustainability in Uttar Pradesh.
