Uttar Pradesh professor accused of exploiting 30 students
Uttar Pradesh Police are searching for Rajneesh Kumar, a 54-year-old professor accused of sexually exploiting more than 30 female students at PC Bagla Degree College in Hathras. Kumar is said to have filmed obscene videos of the students, claiming to offer them jobs. The investigation began following an anonymous letter sent to the National Commission for Women. This letter, reportedly from a victim, described Kumar as a predator who exploited students by promising academic help and job placements. The letter revealed that those who resisted faced threats of ruined careers and public shame. Police have found 65 explicit videos on Kumar's mobile phone. Although he deleted incriminating evidence before their arrival for questioning, forensic experts were able to recover the videos. Some of these videos were allegedly uploaded to pornographic websites. Despite five complaints against Kumar over the past 18 months, the college management took no significant action. Public pressure has led to his suspension by the college. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at the Hathras Gate police station, and three police teams have been assigned to locate him. Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha stated that they are actively pursuing Kumar and questioning college staff and students. In response to the situation, a four-member investigation team has been formed to look into the matter further. Many people are angry about the college’s inaction and are demanding Kumar’s immediate arrest and severe punishment.
