Uttar Pradesh recovered 64,000 acres from land mafia
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday that the Uttar Pradesh government has recovered 64,000 acres of land from illegal land mafia since 2017. He made this statement during the opening of a new tehsil building in Mihipurwa. Adityanath emphasized that his government has resolved 33 lakh pending revenue-related cases. This effort has helped many citizens who previously faced land disputes. He noted that before his administration, millions of cases were unresolved, leading to conflicts and illegal land grabbing. The chief minister stated that previous governments allowed corruption to thrive, which hurt the poor. His team has set strict timelines for resolving cases, ensuring efficiency and accountability at various administrative levels. The government's crackdown on land mafia has been facilitated by the Anti-Land Mafia Task Force. Adityanath highlighted improvements in law and order, claiming this has made Uttar Pradesh attractive for investment. He also mentioned the establishment of Gram Sachivalayas, which provide internet connectivity to villages. This allows residents to obtain important documents easily, without traveling far. The chief minister announced plans to digitize land records to prevent fraud in land demarcation. He assured citizens that digital measurements would preserve their land rights. Additionally, he inaugurated residential quarters for tehsil employees to enhance service delivery. Reflecting on past wildlife issues in Bahraich, Adityanath shared that the government has recognized human-wildlife conflict as a disaster. The state has provided financial assistance to affected families. He pointed out Bahraich's potential for tourism, mentioning a new medical college and the upcoming inauguration of a victory memorial for Maharaja Suheldev. Adityanath claimed that conditions in Bahraich have improved significantly, ensuring that law and order is maintained. Plans for developing Kartaniya Ghat as an eco-tourism hub and building a bypass road for Bahraich were also announced. He noted significant economic growth in the district as well, with GDP rising from ₹ 6,924 crore in 2017 to ₹ 25,000 crore by 2024. Adityanath declared that this reflects a new era of development in Uttar Pradesh.
