Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday that 20% of all job positions in Uttar Pradesh will be reserved for women. He made this statement while distributing loans totaling Rs 55 crore to 1,423 beneficiaries under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojna in Gonda. Yogi highlighted the government's efforts to increase employment opportunities and encourage women to join the workforce. He mentioned that there were only 10,000 women in the police force in 2017, but the government has since recruited an additional 12,000 women officers. To date, over 25,000 women have been appointed in various roles. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of empowering young people. He said the youth hold the key to making Uttar Pradesh self-reliant. The BJP government aims to support young entrepreneurs financially, believing that a nation's strength depends on its young talent and energy. During the event, toolkits were also distributed to artisans as part of the "One District-One Product" program. Yogi noted that more than 3 lakh people have registered under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Abhiyan, with loans for over 32,700 individuals already approved. He also spoke about improving infrastructure, mentioning that the travel time from Gonda to Lucknow has decreased significantly. The journey now takes just 2.15 hours, and trips to the Devipatan Temple have been reduced to only 45 minutes. Yogi confirmed that better connectivity remains a top priority for the government.
