Uttar Pradesh transport services accessible via common service centres
The transport department in Uttar Pradesh has teamed up with over 150,000 common service centers (CSCs) to make its services more accessible. This move allows people to access various government services online without needing to visit local Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). So far, the department has moved 49 of its services online. This includes applying for duplicate driving licenses, learner's licenses, and registration certificates. Now, residents can apply for these services at CSCs for a fee of Rs 30. However, users must pay extra if they need to print, scan, or photocopy any documents. The online services involve the department's Sarathi and Vahan portals, covering all aspects related to driving licenses and vehicle registration. This initiative aims to save time and streamline the process for citizens.
