Vadodara crash linked to intoxicated driver and film
A car crash in Vadodara, Gujarat, has drawn attention due to the actions of the driver, Rakshit Chaurasiya, 23. After the accident, videos showed him shouting "another round" multiple times. He is accused of hitting two motorcycles with his car, resulting in one woman's death and injuries to seven others. Investigators found a poster of the film "Another Round" near Chaurasiya's residence. This film tells the story of four teachers who experiment with alcohol, and some are concerned it may have influenced his behavior. An investigator mentioned that Chaurasiya might have been under the influence of a substance when the crash occurred. They are waiting for further forensic tests to confirm this. Chaurasiya appeared intoxicated when he was arrested shortly after the crash, which happened around 12:30 a.m. last Friday. The car involved is registered to a company owned by his friend's father. His friend, Pranshu Chauhan, was with him during the incident. In video footage, Chauhan is seen distancing himself from blame, stating that Chaurasiya was driving recklessly. The police have charged Chaurasiya under a law related to culpable homicide. Officials suspect that overspeeding and intoxication contributed to the crash. They have gathered blood samples to test for alcohol and drugs. The crash claimed the life of Hemali Patel, who was riding as a passenger, while her husband was injured. Among the injured were two young children, aged nine and fourteen. As the investigation continues, three police officers were transferred for failing to follow protocol after allowing Chaurasiya to speak to the media while in custody. Local residents reportedly attacked Chaurasiya before handing him over to the authorities.
