Vairamuthu's novel may win Nobel Prize

Chennai Chief Minister M K Stalin praised poet and lyricist Vairamuthu at an international conference, highlighting his contributions to literature and film music. Vairamuthu has created 7,500 film songs and authored 39 books, selling 2.9 million copies. Vairamuthu's novel, "Kallikaattu Ithikasam," focuses on farmer displacement and has been translated into 22 languages. He expressed pride in this work, comparing it to Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea," and mentioned its potential for a Nobel Prize. Despite his success, Vairamuthu identifies as a writer of the Dravidian movement. Stalin acknowledged his enduring influence across generations in Tamil literature and music.
