Vaishali Hotel owner's son-in-law arrested for fraud

Vishwajit Vinayakrao Jadhav, the son-in-law of the late Jagannath Shetty, was arrested on Friday for an alleged fraud involving ₹5 crore. The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) arrested him after a complaint was filed by his wife, Nikita Shetty. Jadhav is accused of working with two others, Ravi Pardeshi and Rajesh Choudhary, to secure a loan by mortgaging a flat without Nikita's consent. Police allege that he forged her signature on loan documents and created fake property papers to deceive the bank. The incident reportedly took place between December 2022 and October 2023. Following his arrest, Jadhav was placed in police custody until Sunday. The Bombay High Court had previously denied bail to the accused. Authorities are still searching for the other two individuals involved in the case.
