Valley freeways will experience major roadwork this weekend
This weekend, roadwork is scheduled on various Valley freeways in Arizona. The work will begin on Friday and continue through Monday morning. Westbound Interstate 10 will be closed between 35th and 83rd avenues from 9 p.m. Friday until 2 p.m. Saturday for pavement sealing. The ramps from Interstate 17 to westbound I-10 will also be closed. Several ramps, including the southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound I-10, will also be closed during this time. Additionally, westbound US 60 will be closed between Loop 101 and I-10 from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday due to traffic shifts for the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. Nearby on-ramps will also be closed, and drivers are advised to take different routes. Northbound SR 143 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for construction near Sky Harbor Airport. Detour options are available for those using this route. Other closures include narrowed lanes and ramp closures along I-10 and US 60 over the weekend. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternative routes to avoid traffic delays.
