Variety’s Power of Women wins Gracie award nationally

Variety's Power of Women digital franchise has received a Gracie Award. This recognition is for the best entertainment website in the national digital media category. The award comes from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. In the past year, Variety's Power of Women issue featured prominent figures like Amy Adams, Carol Burnett, Zoe Saldaña, and Bela Bajaria. These women were highlighted on separate magazine covers. The issue also included a Women's Impact Report, showcasing influential women in film, TV, and music. Additionally, Variety presented the first-ever Courage Award to actress Sarah Hyland. The Gracie Award will be given to Variety on May 20 during the 50th annual Gracie Awards ceremony. This event honors women's contributions and stories in media. Many other winners will also be celebrated this year, including Cristin Milioti, Keke Palmer, and Kathy Bates. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Fortune Feimster at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Becky Brooks, the president of AWMF, emphasized the importance of the Gracie Awards in promoting inclusion and representation in storytelling. She remarked that the women being honored today are shaping the future of media.
