Summary: A Lancet study warns against consuming ultra-processed plant-based foods like vegan kebabs, linking them to increased cardiovascular disease risk. Research shows a 10% rise in calorie intake from such foods leads to a 5% higher risk of heart disease and a 12% higher risk of cardiovascular death. In contrast, whole plant foods are associated with a 7% lower risk of cardiovascular disease and a 13% lower risk of cardiovascular mortality.
