Venkatesh Iyer ready to lead Kolkata Knight Riders as new captain

This follows the franchise's decision not to retain former captain Shreyas Iyer. Iyer, who previously served as vice-captain, emphasized the importance of leadership and creating a supportive team environment. He aims to help KKR defend their championship title. KKR's CEO, Venky Mysore, highlighted the team's focus on maintaining a balanced core while making strategic signings. The franchise retained six players and brought back three from the previous season.
