Vikings consider trading 24th pick for more draft picks
The Minnesota Vikings are preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft, scheduled for April 24-26. The team currently has only four draft picks, making them one of the most likely teams to trade back or even out of the first round. General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been active during the free agency period to fill roster gaps. This could push teams like the Las Vegas Raiders, who hold nine draft picks, to consider moving up to Minnesota's 24th overall pick. CB prospect Shavon Revel Jr. from East Carolina is attracting attention. If he is available, the Raiders might trade up to secure him. In a proposed trade scenario, the Vikings would receive the Raiders' second round pick (No. 37), third round pick (No. 68), and sixth round pick (No. 215). In this scenario, the Vikings could then select safety Xavier Watts from Notre Dame, a standout player from the last college season. The Vikings need to address their safety position as veteran Harrison Smith is nearing the end of his career. This draft is crucial for the Vikings, especially considering the roster changes from this offseason. Adding extra draft picks while still addressing key positions could benefit the team's long-term plans.
