Vince McMahon reversed WrestleMania 39 match outcome

Vince McMahon made a last-minute change to the result of a big match at WrestleMania 39. This match featured Adam "Cope" Copeland, known as "Edge," facing Finn Balor. It took place during a Hell In A Cell event that was linked to the film "The Pope's Exorcist." Reports reveal that Copeland was originally supposed to lose to Balor. In fact, he had supported the idea of Balor winning. This was meant to mark Copeland's departure from WWE. However, on the day of the show, McMahon decided that Copeland should win instead. This change came after a heated rivalry between the two, as Balor had ejected Copeland from the Judgment Day group. There was speculation that McMahon might change the main event match too, but he did not. McMahon had recently returned to WWE after stepping down due to a scandal involving payments to former employees. He left the company again in early 2024 after facing a lawsuit from a former employee. Copeland left WWE in September 2024 and joined AEW shortly thereafter. Balor remains the leader of the Judgment Day faction, which has expanded to include new members like Liv Morgan, Carlito, and JD McDonagh.
