Vinyl defeats Lunar Owls; advances to championship game
Vinyl, the No. 4 seed, defeated top-seeded Lunar Owls 73-70 in the semifinals of the Unrivaled 3-on-3 women's basketball league. Rhyne Howard scored 23 points, while Jordin Canada added 21. Dearica Hamby's layup over MVP Napheesa Collier secured the win. In the other semifinal, second-seeded Rose beat the No. 3 Laces 63-57. Chelsea Gray led Rose with 39 points, overcoming a 13-point halftime deficit. Rose will face Vinyl for the championship on Monday, with each player on the winning team earning $50,000. Collier, named Unrivaled's MVP, averaged 25.7 points per game this season. Despite her strong performance, the Lunar Owls, who had the best regular-season record, were eliminated.
