Virgin Media customers to lose Tastemade channel soon

Virgin Media customers will soon lose another channel, Tastemade, as part of a recent change to TV services. The cooking channel, which started in July 2023, will no longer be available after March 31. Virgin Media stated that it regularly updates its streaming channel offerings to better serve its customers. Tastemade will leave its spot at channel number 232. Virgin Media focuses on providing channels that can be accessed through its TV 360, Stream, and V6 boxes. These channels are streamed over the internet and appear alongside traditional cable channels on the electronic program guide. Despite the channel loss, Virgin Media is expanding its streaming options. The company currently has around 30 channels and hopes to offer up to 50 in the future. Channels like Wonder and Red Bull TV were recently added to the line-up, featuring content on engineering, technology, and sports. Other popular channels still available include Inside Crime, Haunt TV, and Real Wild, among many others. As the TV landscape evolves, there are concerns about potential further channel closures. The BBC has plans to transition some channels to digital only, while Channel 4 is reviewing its smaller channels, hinting that more closures may occur soon.
