Visakhapatnam police arrest two in four-year-old murder
The police in Visakhapatnam have solved a murder case from four years ago and arrested two suspects. The arrests were made on Saturday. The suspects are Lalam Ganesh and K. Tarakeswara Rao. The victim, 45-year-old Ganagalla Srinu, also known as "Mental Srinu," was found dead in April 2021. His body was located near Kancharapalem Mettu, and it showed signs of violence. The police registered a case but struggled to find leads. By August 2022, the case had been labeled ‘Undetectable’ and closed. Recently, the city police decided to reopen undetectable cases. They formed a special investigation team led by inspector Shaik Hussian. This team conducted thorough searches and questioned several individuals. During their investigation, they learned that Srinu had a conflict with Ganesh, a scrap thief. Reports indicate that on April 16, 2021, Srinu and his accomplice took ₹4,000 from Ganesh, which angered him. The following day, Ganesh and Rao allegedly killed Srinu in retaliation. The police continue to investigate the case.
