The Dr YSR ACA VDCA International Cricket Stadium in PM Palem, Visakhapatnam, has undergone a major renovation before the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. This facelift was completed in about two months at a cost of ₹40 crore, as announced by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA). Key upgrades include the replacement of old halogen floodlights with new LED lights, which cost nearly ₹9.5 crore. These LED lights will help reduce heat during matches and save electricity. The ACA also made significant improvements to sanitation facilities. The number of toilets has been increased from 54 to 250. Players' dressing rooms have been fully upgraded with new seating and air conditioning. The stadium now features enhanced elevators that can carry up to 64 people. Interior designs have been refreshed with modern sports themes, and there are upgrades to illumination, air conditioning, and fire safety systems. The stadium also expanded VIP boxes in response to requests from the Delhi Capitals franchise. This renovation is the first phase of improvements, with a second phase expected to bring additional enhancements. The stadium was built in 2003 and has a history of hosting various cricket matches, including 11 One Day Internationals (ODIs), three Test matches, and three T20s. It is the second home ground for teams like the Mumbai Indians and the Rising Pune Supergiants. The Delhi Capitals will play against the Lucknow Supergiants on March 24 and face the Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 30 at this newly renovated venue.
