Vito the pug makes history as first pug to win best in show at National Dog Show
Vito the pug won the title of best in show at the 2024 National Dog Show on November 28, making history as the first pug to achieve this honor. He competed against around 2,000 dogs from 205 breeds. Vito was initially recognized as the best of his breed and then won the toy dog category. He outperformed other group winners, including Houston the Clumber Spaniel and Verde the Welsh terrier, who was the runner-up. Judges praised Vito for his compact features and movement. His handler noted Vito's impressive appearance, contributing to his success in the competition. Vito takes over the title from Stache the Sealyham terrier, who won last year.
