Vito the Pug won Best in Show at the 2024 National Dog Show, marking the first time a pug has received this title since the event began airing on Thanksgiving in 2002. Vito, from Chapel Hill, N.C., outperformed over 1,900 dogs, including a Welsh Terrier that placed second. He also won the toy group and has previously achieved success at major dog shows, including the Westminster Dog Show. Vito's victory is significant as no pug had won Best in Show in the event's 22-year history on NBC. His co-owners received a $20,000 prize for the win.
